FIELD: automotive vehicle electrical equipment. SUBSTANCE: direction indicator has knob of direction indicator lever fitted on axle and balanced in middle position by springs, detent, hermetically sealed reed contacts, flasher, diodes and switching devices. Direction indicator lever is made in form of tube manufactured of diamagnetic material with permanent magnet fitted inside. Armature made of magnetically soft material is secured outside lever and is arranged between end faces of horseshoe magnet - detent. Steering wheel position pickup is essentially screen mounted on steering column by means of bushing and screws so that its plane is parallel to surface of bushing end faces. Arranged on planes of screen parallel to each other and square to axis of steering column are permanent magnet and three-contact hermetically-sealed reed contact. Clearances between end faces of armature and electromagnet and place of installation of hermetically sealed reed conatcts are determined by angle of displacement of lever in both directions at distance equal to distance between permanent magnet and axle.
