METHOD OF PREPARING OF BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE LIPIDS COMPLEX Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: biotechnology, microbiology. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing of lipid complex containing γ-linolenic acid. Method is carried out by growing of fungus Mucor lusitanicus INMI at submerged cultivation under conditions of continuous aeration on the nutrient medium containing hydrocarbon source of carbon and inorganic source of nitrogen. Medium has additionally, g/l: sodium acetate 3-5; KMnO₄ 0.015-0.030; CuSO₄·7H₂O 0.01-0.001; vitamin β₁ 0.002. Growing is carried out at pH 4.5-5.5. After 72 h of growing synthesis of lipids is 12 g per 100 g utilized glucose, lipids contains 28% γ-linolenic acid of total content of fatty acids and 6500 mcg carotinoids per 1 g lipids.
