FIELD: automotive industry. SUBSTANCE: silencer has cylindrical housing 1 bounded by end walls 2 and 3 on which intake branch pipe 4 and exhaust branch pipe 5 are mounted. Inner shears of these branch pipes are arranged in zones of lowest natural forms of oscillations of gas space enclosed in silencer chamber, as well as perforated partition 9 with holes. Tops of partition 9 are mounted at areas where cylindrical housing 1 is secured with its end walls 2 and 3; partition 9 is located on either side from CG of gas space enclosed in chamber 8 of silencer, symmetrically to it. Partition 9 may be located symmetrically relative to the plane passing through CG perpendicularly to longitudinal axis of housing 1 of the silencer. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 cl, 6 dwg
