FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: electric arc furnace has casing with lining, rolling-out doorway with roof, roof hoisting mechanism, guide rails for rolling out the doorway; furnace is provided with hydraulic cylinder, booster and fixed supports; roof hoisting mechanism is made in form of movable bed which holds drive members; upper part of the bed may be engageable with doorway and its lower part rests on guide rails bent in horizontal plane; bed is movably connected with hydraulic cylinder and booster articulated on the fixed supports.
