FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: device for measuring a sliver linear density, including in a system for automatic microprocessor system of regulating linear density on drawing frame, carding machine, stapling or combing machines, comprises a funnel having movable and stationary parts, two guides on which the movable part is mounted, the ends of guides being fixed to the stationary part; electric magnet which housing is rigidly fixed to the opposite ends of guides, the electric magnet being coupled with the movable part through an armature; cylindrical compression spring interposed between the electric magnet housing and funnel movable part; inductance coils mounted in one of the parts of funnel in parallel with the guides; ferrite cores mounted in the other part of funnel, the coils being connected in a frequency generator circuit.
