FIELD: fluid-tightness testing of hollow articles. SUBSTANCE: method involves the steps of: connecting an article to be tested to one leg of a differential pressure gauge filled with an conducting liquid and a test pressure source to the other leg, placing a channel coupling the two legs such that its a portion of it is located below the level of lower meniscus of displaced liquid occurred after test pressure produced in the article; recording liquid displacement in the channel from variations in electric resistance between two conductors located in said portion of the channel at different height. EFFECT: widened range of leaks to be determined with leak value measurement reliability retained. 1 dwg
