SUBSTANCE: method involves the steps of: freezing an amorphysized specimen of cross-linked polymer into glass-like state, applying permanently acting load with action within high elasticity limits to the specimen through a hemispheric probe, heating it at a constant rate to a temperature of starting decomposition and measuring deformation of the specimen of cross-linked polymer during heating along the load application axis with compensation for its thermal expansion and finally determining an average molecular mass from the expression given in the invention description.
