FIELD: holography; obtaining contour maps of surface relief by holographic technique. SUBSTANCE: method involves the steps of: preliminarily generating multi-frequency laser radiation, dividing it into two portions, spatially separating one portion of the generated laser radiation with respect to wave lengths, filtering two frequencies and switching on a shutter with the aid of this radiation, using the second portion of preliminarily generated laser radiation at the same frequencies as "seed " one for generating two-frequency laser radiation upon switch on the shutter.
