SUBSTANCE: this method of curing severe forms of scoliosis prescribes properly positioning distractor and then correcting deformative defects of vertebral column. Distinguishing trait of this method is that portions of ribs protruding backwards located on concave side of deformed portion and impeding proper positioning of distractor are subperiosteally resected prior to fitting distractor in prescribed place. EFFECT: lower rate of traumatism in surgically treating multiplane deformation of vertebral column.
