SUBSTANCE: automatic water filter has casing divided into sections having watertight barrier with tubular piezometer, source and wash water pipings connecting prechambers with distribution chambers and with wash-water discharge channel and equipped with hydraulic-actuated gate valves, hydroautomatic control unit with siphon-type start-of-washing sensor mounted in tubular piezometer, gravitation-type end-of-washing sensor, and mode-of-operation switching unit of filter that has two four-way cocks installed on communication lines feeding hydraulic drives; lever of first cock is joined with end-of-washing sensor and that of other cock, with pusher of gate valve hydraulic actuator on source water piping.
