FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: worm machine has charging funnel, drive worm shaft with ridges of helical coils. Worm shaft is mounted in casing in spaced relation with respect to inner surface of casing, with space being variable in the direction of discharge of material. Ridges are provided with slots and have inserts received in slots. Space between ridges of helical coils and casing inner surface is increasing in the direction of discharge of material. Inserts protrude above ridges end surfaces. Flexible members are positioned between adjacent inserts. EFFECT: increased efficiency of dewatering materials and simplified construction. 3 cl, 4 dwg
