FIELD: microwave instrumentation engineering. SUBSTANCE: metal bosses of screen with longitudinal slots for dielectric mounts are manufactured by passing wire through rollers of appropriate shape whereupon they are clamped in slots of bosses by rolling them on both ends. In the process, metal member is cold-hardened and proper shape stability is attained to perform further operations. Coil is fitted onto tool leg, one end of tool carrying bush with orienting slots receiving metal bosses carrying metal mounts. Auxiliary rods are inserted between bosses and mounts and locked on opposite end of leg about coil by means of one more bush with slots. Then assembly is inserted first in at least one section of metal shell whose length is not over 1/10 of length of stack cut from identical metal shell provided with guide tracks. Assembly is oriented against guide tracks of metal shell and inserted into it at the same time shifting auxiliary section of metal shell which is removed during finishing stage.
