HELICAL SLOW-WAVE STRUCTURE OF TWT Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC H01J25/34 H01J23/26

Abstract RU 2738380 C1

FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electronic engineering, specifically to helical slow-wave structures of O-type microwave devices, particularly for traveling-wave tubes (TWT). Helical slow-wave structure of TWT comprises elastically deformed or thermomechanically compressed metal shell, dielectric rods and spiral from bimetallic conductor, which is fixed in dielectric rods due to pressure of elastically deformed or thermomechanically compressed metal shell. Bimetallic conductor is made in the form of two metal tapes having contact along the common boundary: ribbons from high-melting with high elasticity of metal and tape from metal, having high plasticity, electric conductivity and heat conductivity. At the same time tape from high-melting metal with high elasticity is coated with metal layer, having high plasticity, electrical conductivity and heat conductivity, with thickness of 0.005–0.015 mm. In particular cases of the invention implementation, the metal band with high plasticity, electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity can be made of copper or from a copper-based composite material. Metal layer, having high plasticity, electrical conductivity and heat conductivity, covering the tape from high-melting metal with high elasticity, can be made of copper. Tape from high-melting metal with high elasticity can be made of tungsten wire with value of relative elongation at elastoplastic deformation of not less than 4 %, from molybdenum wire with value of relative elongation at elastoplastic deformation of not less than 8 %, or from alloy of tungsten with rhenium.

EFFECT: increased service life and efficiency of TWT.
