SUBSTANCE: traveling-wave tube has its slow-wave structure screen provided with helical slot of po pitch and bottom diameter of 2R related to pitch p and diameter 2r of helix by equation , with slot width and depth not exceeding quarter of minimum working wavelength. Slot varies spacing of structure thereby worsening conditions of reverse harmonic excitation. EFFECT: enlarged tube gain band, improved stability in operation. 2 dwg
