FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method improving magnetic properties comprises the following steps. Producing isotropic electrical steel in the shape of a steel strip of a preset thickness by hardening in liquid state, using a single- or double-roll method which increases silicon content to 6 wt.-%. Produced strip of high-silicon electrical steel is annealed in vacuum then cold rolled with a 30-70% reduction which is followed by irradiating it with a laser beam at a power density of 0,5-4,0 kWt/mm2 . The final step is completing recrystallizing annealing in vacuum at 550-1200 C. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 tbl
