FIELD: home appliances. SUBSTANCE: mounted in flashlight housing 1 is cable locator which has amplifier 14, comparator 15, coils 9, 10 and 11 and generator 13 connected with power source 7 of flashlight by means of switch 5. In case there is cable embedded in the wall, eddy currents are induced in nonmagnetic dielectric end by coil 9 fed from generator 13 in nonmagnetic dielectric end of the flashlight housing; emf arising in coils 10 and 11 opens comparator which switches on lamp 3 of flashlight which indicates detection of cable.
