FIELD: shaft furnaces. SUBSTANCE: shaft furnace has shaft 1, refractory walls, gas distributing walls 3 with ports 4; exhaust gas ducts 7 are inserted into outlet chambers 5 through upper arcs 6. Exhaust gas ducts 7 are connected with smoke exhauster 8 owing to which, temperature of exhaust gases in the upper portion of outlet chambers becomes higher than the dew point, thus excluding deposition of particles of material in the outlet chambers and enhancing reliability of furnace.
