FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: matrix elements with longitudinal grooves, soldered-in and, if necessary, soldered-on elements are passed separately through melt of solder. Soldered-in elements are put in groove ahead of entry to gauge. At least one lower element is passed over laying section over trajectory with negative curvature and each upper element is held in stressed-stretched state under condition of their relative elongation across transition from lower element to upper one within limits of reversible deformation. Matrix elements are reduced with passing through gauge at exit from melt. Elements are brought out of gauge at angle of 0-5 deg to level of melt with keeping of level of melt in conduit between lower and upper points of upper soldered-in or soldered-on element and wire is cooled locally. EFFECT: provision for manufacture of combined wires having cross-section between 50 and 1000 sq mm with high accuracy geometric positioning of elements over the whole length without disruption of their shapes and for continuous soldered joint between elements, high-precision control over level of filling of groove with solder and selective soldering of soldered-in or soldered-on element. 1 dwg, 1 tbl
