FIELD: measurement technology; devices for measuring aircraft altitude over the Earth surface (at low altitudes) and its change rate. SUBSTANCE: digital capacitive altimeter comprises a sensitive member made in the form of two electrodes fixed under aircraft fuselage with the aid of dielectric supports at a predetermined distance relative to the fuselage bottom, input signal converter, indication unit, auxiliary second sensitive member made in the form of two electrodes disposed under the aircraft fuselage on dielectric supports at a distance less as much as twice the fixture distance of the first electrode second input signal converter, unit for shaping information signals on altitude and altitude change of aircraft. The range finder furthermore is provided with two differentiating units, arithmetic unit composed of three dividers, subtraction element, storage unit, switch, fourth, fifth dividers and matching unit. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy due to simultaneous digital processing of signals applied from level-wise spaced sensitive members. 2 cl, 5 dwg
