FIELD: agricultural engineering; irrigation control systems. SUBSTANCE: method provides for carrying out preliminary calculations and scheduling timetable in from of preset time cycles of switching on and off of irrigation installation. During each cycle time of beginning and end of watering within definite time period is stored with subsequent re-entering of data into portable unit for recording, displaying and processing of data in computer. The latter, according to known algorithms, yields recommendations on changes in irrigation schedule, payment for work of operator on basis of degree of correspondence between actual and preset schedule of irrigation cycles and on changes to be introduced into maintenance schedule. This method is implemented by means of definite device with portable electronic recorder 2 installed on irrigation installation which stores in process of irrigation the time of watering and idling of installation basing on state of irrigation process transmitter 1. After a definite lapse of time information from recorder furnished with connector Ш-1 is transmitted to program control and monitoring unit 10 in which date and time of re-entering of information is recorded on dispatcher control panel. Then on-line scanning of information is carries out by dispatcher panel computer, and duration of operation and idling of irrigation installation is found for recording. According to preset algorithm of computer, date and actual schedule of watering are found, payment for work of installation operator is calculated, and date and type of maintenance services and other operations are set. Device has storage unit 13 installed in unit 10 for recording information on time of watering and idling. It has also main storage unit 7 installed in recorder 7. Data are entered into main storage unit 7 by means of timer 4 controlled by inhibit circuit 4 through assembly 5, inverter 6 and irrigation cycle counter 8. For matching recorder 2 and unit 10 in data re-writing through connector, the latter has first and second flip-flops and first counter 12 of irrigation cycles. For reproducing data entered into storage unit 13 on display 27, use is made of third flip-flop 18, fourth slip-flop 24 and second circuit 21, or fifth flip-flop 14, pulse shaper 22 with inverter 28, third counter 20 and fifth time counter 26. Synchronization of operation of unit 10 under conditions of re-entering of information from recorder 2, and at displaying and data processing by means of computer 9, is provided by pulse generator 19.
