FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves treating cotton plants twice - in the budding and blooming phases - with an aqueous emulsion comprising nonionic surfactant in the amount of 2-20 pts wt per one pt wt of surfactant consisting of a mixture of triterpenic (lanostanic) acids of a general formula C30N46-48O4. Surfactant is prepared by extracting fir branch mass with a mixture of petroleum ether and ethylacetate (1:1). The preparation applied in doses smaller than those of known preparations protects cotton plants reliably against wilt, improves cropping power and quality of cotton fibers.
