FIELD: catalyst manufacture. SUBSTANCE: catalyst comprises (%) 3 of nickel tetroxide, 9 of molybdenum oxide, 1.5 of phosphorus pentoxide the balance being aluminium oxide. To obtain the catalyst precalcined aluminium oxide is impregnated at pH 1.5-3.5 with a solution of nickel and molybdenum salts in the presence of phosphoric acid. The impregnation is accompanied by drying and calculation of the obtained catalytic compound. As aluminium oxide used is the one manufactured through the heat treatment of aluminum trihydrate particles the size of 0.04-0.1 mesh. This process is carried out in a rotatable drum kiln at 350-500 C for 15-180 min. The obtained amorphous product is next subjected to hydration at pH of 5.0-5.5 at a temperature ranging from 75 to 90 C and autoclaved for plasticizing at 140-300 C for 3-6 h with molding drying and calcination following.
