FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: process comprises subjecting hydrargillite to thermal dispersion at elevated temperature, subsequently washing and subjecting it to placticization with nitric acid in amount of 0.1-0.2 mole per mole of Al2O3 by autoclave treatment. This done, the plasticized compound is molded and calcined. Prior to molding operation, 70-90 wt % plasticized product is treated successively with 25 % ammonia solution to pH of 9-10 and with 0.5-1.0 wt % isooctylphenol polyoxyethyl ether solution or butanol-1 solution and then dried by spraying. The remaining 10-30 wt % plasticized product are dried and treated with nitric acid in amount 0.15 mole per mole of Al2O3. 10-30 wt % plasticized product treated with nitric acid are mixed with the remaining dried portion. After the product has been molded, it is dried and calcined at 550 C. EFFECT: more efficient preparation process. 1 tbl
