FIELD: foundry practice. SUBSTANCE: a filtering member made up of two filters, a metal and a fiberglass fabric one, is fitted into the gate system of the mould. The filters are secured by flanging to a hollow truncated insert made from a material of a chemical composition close to that of the poured metal.
