FISH PROTECTIVE DEVICE OF WATER INTAKE FACILITY Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

Abstract RU 2026465 C1

FIELD: hydraulic engineering. SUBSTANCE: in case of absence of young fish in headrace canal water is drawn to water intake 9 through screened barrage 2 mounted in frame 4 and possessing higher through flow capacity (for example, mesh 10x10 mm) as compared with that of elements 3 (for example, mesh 2x2 mm); flow rate in water intake canal 9 exceeds the rated value; dirt is caught in screened barrage 2. For flushing the screened barrage, flushing device 8 (jet appliance, for example) is placed in operation. Flushing device is connected with the pump mounted on the truck. Hydraulic jets carry away dirt via local dirt and fish discharge chutes 10 and transfer it to fish pass. In case of change in the ichthyological situation (increased concentration of young fish) in headrace canal 1, the device operates as follows: flat jet-throwing elements 3 connected with drive 5 by means of ropes 6 are turned by this drive on axles 7 articulated in frame 4 and are set in the extreme lower position (in parallel with screened barrage 2). As a result, filter is formed which is characterized by lesser through-flow capacity (for example, mesh 2x2 mm) as compared with filter consisting of screened barrage 2 (for example, mesh 10x10 mm). In this case, optimal hydraulic conditions are created which ensure effective protection of fish. Flushing screened barrage 2 and perforated screened elements 3 is effected by means of flushing device 8; owing to hydrodynamic pressure of hydraulic jets, elements 3 are vibrating at all times due to their mounting on horizontal axles 7 which enhances washing procedure and provides for creating the local hydrodynamic field repelling young fish from water intake front. Device makes it possible to use flat perforated jet-directing elements 3 in complex, viz.: to create new filter characterized by new through-flow capacity and to create local dirt and fish discharge chutes when elements 3 are in other position, thus providing for discrete discharge of dirt and fish to fish discharge pass. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 2 dwg
