Mounted between abutments of canal 3 is concave protective wall with waste-retaining screen 15 in its center portion of height which is made of horizontal rods. Mounted in front of screen 15 on vertical axle 9 is cleaning drum 4 with pins 12 located between rods of screen 15 to whose ends drive drums with plates 10 over their perimeter are coaxially secured. Flow of water course 2 acts on plates 10 setting drum 4 in rotation; pins 12 of drum 4 take waste off screen 15 and throw it downward in way of water course 2; clean water enters canal 3 through screen 15.
