FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: signal received is subjected to amplitude modulation in modulator 2 by signal coming from standard generator 3, then it is multiplied by itself in balance mixer 4 and standard generator signal is subtracted from this signal, which affords suppression of carrier frequency and reduces effect of inherent noise of heterodyne. Spectrum components up to 120 dB level relative to carrier level can be viewed. Meter also has regulating attenuator 5, detector section 8, voltmeter 9, and spectrum analyzer.
