FIELD: mineral mining. SUBSTANCE: placed on levelled base 1 of dump is draining layer 2. Then, barrier layer 3 is formed of sulfate-containing rocks with relatively high content of useful components. Leached layer 4 is formed of sulfide-containing rocks with mineralization of finely divided fraction and relatively low content of useful component. Formed between barrier layer 3 and leached layer 4 is geochemical barrier 5. The last to be formed is layer 6 of rocks producing leaching solutions. Dump side surfaces are screened with impervious layer 7. Surface of dump is treated with water having active agents from sources 8. Sulfide minerals of leached layer 4 are oxidized to liberate heat and to decompose minerals. Solutions passing layer 6 react with rocks to form leaching solutions which dissolve useful components of rocks of leached layer 4 and migrate to barrier layer 3. Passing through geometrical barrier 5 useful components precipitate in barrier layer 3. Solution cleaned of useful components is removed through draining layer 2. As a result, high concentration of useful component in rocks of barrier layer 3 is ensured. EFFECT: increased quality of stored rocks. 4 cl, 1 dwg
