FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: engine has housing 1 with toroidal working chamber 2, working shaft 3, which is received in the chamber and provided with disk rotor 4 having a pair of diametrically opposite pistons 5, separating gates 6 mounted in the housing for periodical overlapping of working chamber 2 and forming compressing chamber 8 and expanding chamber 9 between pistons 5 and gates 6,7 correspondingly and provided with a drive kinematically coupled with working shaft 3, accumulating chambers 10 provided with inlet 11 and outlet 12 passages having valving members, control mechanism coupled with the members, inlet 13 and outlet 14 ports of a valve gear system made in compression chamber 8 and expanding chamber 9 correspondingly, and device for igniting charge. Accumulating chambers 10 is made immediately in rotor 4. The number of gates 6,7 is equal to the number of pistons 5. The valving member of each pair of inlet and outlet 12 passages is made up of flat slide 16 with openings. The control mechanism of the openings is constructed as closed cam guide 17 positioned coaxially with housing 1 and rigidly coupled with the housing.
