FIELD: data recording and playback. SUBSTANCE: system records and playbacks signals from/to magnetic tape at cassette in longitudinal tracks inside two-track patterns at two adjacent areas of the tape; the signals are recorded and playback in opposite directions. Cassette is irreversible and has single base wall without holes. Equipment used has means for recording and playback of signals a standard sign at two opposite directions without cassette reversing. System may be made as two-standard system available for application as with reversible, and with irreversible cassettes corresponding to non-compatible standards at two standard equipment.
