FIELD: electric engineering. SUBSTANCE: thermostatic switch has case 1 with closed space 20, motionless contacts 2 and 3 fastened to the case, connecting member 6 soldered by thermo-sensitive matter 7 and 8 to motionless contacts. Connecting member has on one its side L-shaped tips 10 and 11; end part of U-shaped spring 16 interacts with the tips. The other end of the spring is attached to motionless contact 2 with which L-shaped tips 10 and 11 form hinge connection. In case when electric device is overheated, the thermo-sensitive matter 7 and 8 melts, connecting plate 6 turns about hinge abruptly and is recessed into cavity 20 and then is torn away contact 3 to open electric circuit into which the thermostatic switch is brought.
