FIELD: machine-tool construction, NC metal-finishing equipment. SUBSTANCE: spindle head has body 1, spindle 6 mounted within body 1, spindle position control device with faceplates 3 and 5 disposed eccentrically one within the other and provided with annular guides 2 and 4, with larger of them being disposed in body 1 and smaller carrying eccentrically positioned spindle. Eccentricity value of faceplate position is equal to eccentricity value of spindle position. Faceplates 3 and 5 have rotation mechanisms with drives and position sensors. Kinematic chain connecting spindle 6 with drive is provided with hollow double-gear unit 9. Drive shaft 11 of rotation mechanism of faceplate 5 is disposed in unit 9. Shaft 11 is made hollow for receiving tie-rod 13, which is connected at its one side with faceplate 3 and at its one other side with rotor of position sensor 14 of faceplate 3. Stator of rotor is fixed on body 1. Kinematic chain for connecting spindle 6 with drive is provided with hollow intermediate shaft disposed in faceplate 5 eccentrically relative to its axis of rotation. Rotor of position sensor of faceplate 5 is connected with faceplate 5 through tie-rod 16 extending within this shaft. Stator with supply cable 17 is secured to faceplate 3. Rotation mechanism of faceplate 5 is formed as worm reducer with clearance take-up device. Spindle head is provided with current supply cable rewinding mechanism.
