FIELD: heat-power engineering, mainly for cooling steam turbines provided with cooling system of high-pressure cylinder flanged joints. SUBSTANCE: cooling air is fed to high-pressure cylinder and to flanged joint heating system; prior to feeding the air for cooling the turbine, it is compressed and divided into two isothermal flows, for example with the aid of vortex tube; flow at higher temperature is directed to high-pressure cylinder and to rotor end seals; flow at lower temperature is directed to flanged joint heating system.
