FIELD: thermal engineering; steam turbine cooling for repairs or preservation of its components in case of its shutdown for long-time period. SUBSTANCE: compressed and dried- out air is supplied in different-temperature streams from vortex tube to high-pressure cylinder, rotor end seals, and heating system of flange joints of turbine cylinder; for cooling down steam turbine, use is made of two different-temperature air streams 12 and 27 produced in vortex tube 8 which is supplied with precompressed and dried-out air 9.
