FIELD: protection from atmospheric effect of wood, concrete and metal articles. SUBSTANCE: compound for coating articles contains, %: still bottoms of mixture of fatty acids 30.0-45.0; calcium oxide 3.2-6.5; used-up copper-chromium-barium catalyst for production of high fatty alcohols 1.7-5.0; carboxylic acids C₁₆-C₁₈ extracted from cotton soap stocks 3.6-11.5, the balance, hydrocarbon solvent. Filled in vessel are still bottoms of fatty acid mixture, carboxylic acids C₁₆-C₁₈ of cotton soap stocks. Mixture is heated up to 80-90 C and calcium oxide is added. Added to produced soaps are used-up catalyst and solvent. If need be, compound contains 6.7-9.4% of iron oxide in form of individual compound or in form of electrolytic slime from treatment of sewage by electrocoagulation. Compound property characteristics: viscosity of 25 s by VZ-4 viscometer; drying time at 20-25 C 3 min; hardness 0.8 arbitrary unit; adhesion unit water absorption for 10 days 0%; mass loss of sample for 1440 h 1 g/sq.m; protection effect 99.5%.
