FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: electrodes 7 of capacitor pickup, positioned on fuel pipe 6, are connected with poles of crystal oscillator 9 through inductive coils 10,11 so that oscillator 9 and one of the inductive coils 10 form oscillating circuit and electrodes 7 and the second inductive coil 11 form a resonating oscillating circuit. The later circuit is adjusted with adjusting capacitor 12 to resonance with the controlling oscillating circuit when clean fuel flows in the fuel pipe. When water finds its way into the zone of the capacitor pickup, frequency of the resonating oscillating circuit is shifted from the resonance frequency of the controlling oscillating circuit.
