Electrode sections are insulated with ceramic partitions in the form of concave plates 5, 6 which are mounted horizontally one above other resting against protrusion made in center of lower part of plate. Flow bed filled with liquid melt, for example carbon solution in liquid iron, is over periphery in gap between plates. Drain holes are drilled in peripheral regions of ceramic plates.
