HOLDER FOR TOOLS INSTALLATION AND FIXATION Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: tools holder is mounted on drilling unit chuck and has body, inner size of which corresponds to diameter of chuck, in which holes are made. Body of holder is rigidly connected with hollow tail-end, in inner part of which fixed in chuck drill is located. Body of holder has three holes, spaced at the angle of 120 deg to each other. Ball is set in each hole. Ring, preventing balls from dropping out of holes, is mounted outside of balls. Second ring of smaller diameter is mounted in addition to the first one. Both rings are fixed on body, located on tail-end with capability to move in axial direction. Rings are made open and are located in place of balls location. To fix a tool in tail-end, through hole with ring-type groove, used to locate elastic member, is made in walls, that form cavity. After required tool - screw driver or screw tap - is fixed in holder the holder is installed on chuck of drilling unit. During the operation fixed in chuck drill is not removed.
