FIELD: automotive industry. SUBSTANCE: guard has bumper beam designed specially for each type of car, shock absorbers rigidly coupled with car body and bumper beam body. Device has reinforcement member in form of bow-shaped frame fitted on bumper beam body. Placed between walls of reinforcement member are twisted cords. Shock absorbers are made in form of hydraulic cylinders with pull-back extension springs placed inside. In static position, extension springs of shock absorbers are fixed by locks to which control cables and compression springs are connected. Control cables are connected also to hand brake lever. Shock absorbing members form solid energy absorbing shield in front of car body. In case of collision shock is killed partially by extension springs with subsequent release shock is killed partially by extension springs with subsequent release of springs from locks and movement of energy absorbing shield outside through definite distance. Cable control is set into action in case of probable collision. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of protection. 5 dwg
