FIELD: automotive industry. SUBSTANCE: device has bumper beam 1 made of channel, shock absorbing devices made in form of spring shock absorbers 2, overriders 3 made in form of hollow cylinders rigidly connected with shock absorbers 2, compression springs 4 and vertical posts 5 with lines. Spring 4 is connected by one end with bumper beam, and by other end, with overrider 3. Shock absorbers 2 are connected with vehicle base by means of hinges. Vertical posts 5 are connected with shock absorbers. In case of probable collision with obstacle, shackle of lock 8 is pulled out to set into action cable control 9. Springs 4 get compressed and set into action shock absorbers 2. Bumper beam 1, acted upon by overriders 3, moves out through definite distance in front of vehicle body. Simultaneously, vertical posts 5 with shock absorbers 2 are moved. Moved out bumper beam 1 and vertical posts 5 form solid shock absorbing shield. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of operation. 3 dwg
