FIELD: hydraulic engineering. SUBSTANCE: method for hydraulic dumping of grainy wastes provides for installation along open pit flanks of floating guard in form of boom on the side of flank inclined to its side and impervious for wastes. Pulp is dumped through branches distributed over periphery of open pit in space between flank and floating guard. Branches are secured to flank and to bottom. Repair guard is fastened to branches. Under protective guard protective beach is hydraulically filled to form storage pond in middle part of open pit round the sinks. Simultaneously, placed into sediments directly adjacent to flank and located along flank are minor explosive charges. During explosion sediments are thinned and fill flank cavities that results in additional reduction of flank water permeability, and guard is jolted to prevent its further coating with sediments.
