FIELD: hydraulic engineering. SUBSTANCE: the most real position of device operation is when crown of inlet is in the extreme lower position. Water flows through holes of close mesh net attached to framework of crown to inner space. Trash entangled by water is repelled and transported to surface of water flow by air supplied from holes made on inner flushing air duct connected to compressed air source by means of hose. When necessity arises to take water from water flow or to raise the inlet crown, air is supplied from its source to surface of water reservoir for inspection, repair, additional cleaning or replacement. Air supply is effected through regulator of air bleeding and supply, flexible hoses and flexible shells. As air fills shells, they expands in volume to ensure positive buoyancy of inlet crown which starts rising along guide due to first sleeve of inlet crown. Simultaneously with rise of inlet crown, boss 12 comes out of sleeve of inlet to raise flexible connecting water conduit which consists of rigid tread rings covered with perforated cloth and having spokes connected with sleeves 20. When water inlet crown rises due to mutual motion of sleeves 10 and 20 relative to guide, vertical motion of inlet crown and flexible connecting water conduit is ensured. Filling of flexible shells with air and increase of their volume results in partial shading of filtering surface of inlet crown that is compensated by opening holes of perforated cloth of flexible connecting water conduit through which water comes to water inlet. When immersion of inlet crown is required, the inverse process takes place involving emptying of flexible shells from air by corresponding switching over of regulator for air bleeding and supply.
