FISH PROTECTION HEAD Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: fish protection devices of water intake structures used to deliver water from opened pools for irrigation and other purposes and adapted for preliminary water cleaning.

SUBSTANCE: fish-protection head is fastened to suction line of pump through connection pipe and comprises cylinder covered with fine-meshed filtering screen, as well as flushing flute rotary mounted on bearing assembly inside the cylinder and performing filtering screen flushing. Working part of flushing flute includes two jet forming members. The device also has water line to supply water to flushing flute and connected to pressure line of the pump and gas line to supply gas to the flushing flute and communicated with atmosphere. One jet forming member is made as right-handed spiral, another one is formed as left-handed spiral with pitch equal to effective height of the cylinder and with outer diameter providing necessary gap between jet forming members and cylinder. The first jet forming member is adapted to form water jets, another one is used to form water-and-air jets. Water and air is supplied to jet forming members through distribution means aligned with bearing assembly body and providing separate supply of above working media to jet forming members.

EFFECT: increased fish protection efficiency, quality and intensity of filtering screen flushing.
