FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has vibration transducer 1 or converting vibration values into proportional electric signals, amplifier 2 for amplifying these signals, octave ratio analyzer 3 for computing the ratio of vibration peak value to root-mean-square value for octaves, comparison unit 6 for comparing computed values with predetermined ones, indication unit 8 for displaying comparison results. If in one or more octaves computed values are greater than predetermined ones, logic gate OR initiates unit 4 for discriminating maxima which determines a frequency at which amplitude of vibration is maximum and passes through itself vibration values of this frequency only. Detector 10 discriminates an envelope of these values of vibration. Narrow-band spectrum analyzer performs spectral analysis of envelope. Indication unit 8 displays spectral analysis results. The information on a technical state drive in general, its assemblies and members is derived from the results displayed by indication unit 3. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 5 cl, 3 dwg
