FIELD: nuclear reactors. SUBSTANCE: expanding tool is inserted in reactor graphite stacking through central channel of stack built up of graphite blocks. Tool is used to hold part of stacking above defective block in position; then defective block is removed by fully destructing it with special tool through central channel. Mentioned part of stack is lowered down by means of expanding tool is removed from channel. Space formed in top part of graphite stacking is filled up by new block having characteristic transverse dimensions smaller than diameter of central channel. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 2 dwg
