FIELD: electrical power engineering. SUBSTANCE: method is realized by choice of Knudsen mode of thermal emission converter which emitter is heated to temperature providing for emergence of instability of Pierce type in interelectrode plasma. Emitter and collector are connected by means of inductance ensuring formation of high-voltage pulse in case of instability emergence in plasma which can be transmitted to user.
