FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: powder of Curcuma longa is applied to 63 white rats having body mass 160-200 g and to 18 rabbits having body mass 2.0-3.0 kg. Said powder is applied to rats as suspension in 1% solution of starch at dose 200 and 1000 mg/kg. The process is carried out intraduodenally and intragastrally. Mentioned above powder is intragastrally applied to rabbits as 20% aqueous suspension at dose 0.25 and 5 g/kg n times a day within 5 days. Main bile components (namely bilirubin, cholesterol, bile acids), bile secretion rate and volume of bile are analyzed to determine affection of Curcuma longa on biochemical composition of bile. It is concluded that said compound affects bile production and bile secretion. EFFECT: improves colloid stability of bile. 2 tbl
