FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: installation comprises slag trough, granulator in the form of a hollow metal drum with external ribs and rims, capable of rotating around horizontal axis, and a water-filled elevator wheel with perforated internal seats. The installation also has a spray-type cooling system of the drum and slag transported into the elevator wheel. The system has water nozzles in the upper part, directed at the drum from its sides and ends. The side water nozzles are arranged in at least two rows along the length of the drum, in its lower half circle. The distance between the longitudinal ribs in the granulator is 0.4-1.0 of its height, the relation of the total surface area of the drum and longitudinal ribs at one side to the area of the internal surface of the elevator wheel is 1.2-2.0 while the difference of diameters of the elevator wheel and its axial hole is 2.0-3.0 times the height of the longitudinal rib of the drum. The perforated internal seats of the elevator wheel are set at an angle of 5-15 deg to its axis. The space between two longitudinal ribs and the surface of the hollow metal drum is divided in length by connectors into at least two sections. EFFECT: improved design. 3 cl, 1 dwg
