FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: pressure of compressed air in starting vessel 5 and reservoir-accumulator 12 are compared by comparing unit 14 before starting. If air pressure in reservoir- accumulator 12 is high enough, the first control valve 18 of comparing unit 14 is open. Air enters the inlet of control valve 16 through check valve 20 and simultaneously enters the second control valve 19 through additional passage. The control valve 19 disconnects the starting pipe line from the control pipe line to economize high pressure air. Sometimes, after a long standing of a vehicle, air pressure in reservoir- accumulator 12 either is equal to zero or is insufficient for starting mechanism 11 to open starting valve 6 forcedly. In this case air for starting mechanism 11 is fed from starting vessel 5 to inlet of control valve 16 through the second control valve 19. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 3 dwg
