FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: eddy-current converter has core-type magnetic circuit. Excitation winding is located onto the magnetic circuit, as well as measuring winding. Excitation winding is made of two sections mounted axially and connected in series opposition. Measuring winding is made of two sections connected in series aiding and mounted coaxial relatively corresponding sections of excitation winding. The second section of the measuring winding is made of two parts connected in series aiding; number of turns is equal to n1 and n2 correspondingly. Number n3 of turns of the first section of measuring winding and number n1 and n2 of turns of parts of the second section of measuring winding are chosen from the relation given in the description of the invention. Converter is provided with a commutator. The first, the second and the third inputs of the commutator are connected with end of the first section of measuring winding and start points of the first and the second parts of its second section correspondingly. Output of the commutator has to be information output of the converter. EFFECT: improved precision of operation. 3 dwg, 1 tbl
